Long Range Forecasts (Pamporovo)

I've never been one to take much notice of snow forecasts for Pamporovo, or anywhere else in Bulgaria come to that. Many times I have boarded the plane with forecasts saying the snow was poor only to be greeted with fantastic conditions on arrival.

Just for something to do, I have just checked out different forecasts for next weekend. The reports were as follows...

2Ski.com forecast = 17cms on Thursday and Friday
Snowforcast.com = just 1 cm on Sunday

Whilst MetCheck and Zoover are forecasting none at all.

When snow falls in Pamporovo, just 1 night can make a huge difference to the resort so it's still too early to panic just yet.

My point is - don't get too dispondant if snow doesn't fall soon, or when forecast. Skiing is rarely possible before Xmas nowdays in this resort as the snow tends not to fall in any great quantity until late December nowdays, but there should still be sufficent for you Xmas revellers to have a great time.

Fingers X'd for you all.

re: Long Range Forecasts (Pamporovo)

very warm at the moment and looks to stay for a week with no different improvement snow wise.
Last 3 days up to today the weather was spring/summer like.
Sofia up to 20's degrees, Borovets was nice and warm too -T'shirt day time-just a bit windy.
When you look up the montain snow is just nothing major.
Light covering only on top but very light.
From Sofia -looking towards Vitosha even worst.
BELOW AVERAGE for this time of year and not looking promising.

In Basko the early beginning is a mud bath and uttet JOKE-but when you are forced for financial reasons to make a fuss and open early -now realising what a mistake that was.Even in Sofia the so called winter park with ice ring, snowboard ramp and bits looked like a swimming pool and washed affair.
Last night was summer conditions like in Sofia-Warm torrential rain, thinders lighting water everywhere-nasty day.
Pamporovo not even worth looking judging by the weather fron even warmer .
Probably not a sight of snow even on very top
Sorry for all of people going pre-Xmas.
I know you will Pete say just for argument sake- weather can change just in a hour.
YES But not this time, not this day not this week.
And just in case you question the factuals of this mine reply:
I was there in PERSON I saw it I felt it I touch it from Tueday until today.

now now X.....weather will change (as advised before)--this weekend will gradually deteriorate and rain will fall, turning to snow, staying unsettled until about the 10th (sorry Steve-LOL)...then drier. Looking better again later next week.....dont trust every post you see--trust Hornster, Benson, Mark IOW and Steve (plus maybe some others I missed)--every year is the same--wind up merchants, trolls and worriers--these resorts are here for a reason-it snows!
