After a great week in Pamporovo with wife and 2 kids (10 & 11) we were advised that the flights from Sofia & Plovdiv were cancelled due to freezing fog which had ensured no flights for previous days, our tour company had arranged for alternative transfers to Thessaloniki airport in Greece (advised 4 - 5 hrs), left Pamporovo 1415hrs on Sat 12th and got to airport at 2210 hrs (2 breaks of 15mins), just enough time to book in and flight left as advised it would at 2315hrs. After a great week in Pamporovo with wife and 2 kids (10 & 11) we were advised that the flights from Sofia & Plovdiv were cancelled due to freezing fog which had ensured no flights for previous days, our tour company had arranged for alternative transfers to Thessaloniki airport in Greece (advised 4 - 5 hrs), left Pamporovo 1415hrs on Sat 12th and got to airport at 2210 hrs (2 breaks of 15mins), just enough time to book in and flight left as advised it would at 2315hrs. The transfer was along mountain backroads often very icy with huge drops over the side, rocks and animals in middle of road. Some stnning scenary during daylight, a little scary in dark. Still enjoyed the holiday as the hotel (snezanka), resort and snow were well worth the inconveience.
Hope this weather clears soon as i dont fancy a detour to greece especially as it is only a one week holiday and we are going to Bourgas when we get to Plovdiv airport
