Anyone know if the Lucky Bansko Apartments are OK?Central? Near lift/gondola, bars, food?

Got back from the Lucky Bansko on sunday.
Lovely modern apartments,clean in all the communal areas, but maid service in rooms a little poor.
Breakfast pretty varied,cereals, cooked etc.
The only problem is that the hotel is so HOT !
When we went down for breakfast we nearly melted as we were sat there in salopettes.We stripped down to just base layers on our top halves,but still unbearable !
With regard to location,
I would have to say that no,it isn't central.

I would have to say that no,it isn't central.
It's about 1.6km from gondola,but a shuttle service runs from 0800.
My advice is to be ready outside reception for 0750 as you need to get this 1st shuttle if you don't want to wait ages at the gondola.
A lot of Russians at the hotel when we were there and they will push you out of the way to get on the shuttle if your'e not careful.
We were dissapointed that the last shuttle back to the hotel was at 5pm. It could have done to run until 6pm really.
Would I go back to the Lucky ?
No, I don't think so because of the location.
We have just booked again for this March and have opted to stay at Narcis Apartments as they are a 10min stroll to the gondola.

Thanks SCRussians seem to be a bit of a menace wherever they are. Very loud and pushy in Cyprus and Thailand a few years ago.

As I said the general standard is very good.You won't be dissapointed with the apartments.Staff speak good english and are very helpful.
Would avoid the evening meal in the restaurant as priced at 25lv each and not the best to be honest.
Room service pizzas very nice and priced at 9lv and the food from the Lobby bar looked pretty good too.
Beers 4lv from Lobby Bar and orange juice was 7lv !

I'm staying there in March, My friend is just back and loved it.The pushy people are in all hotels( my knee was injured last year at the Villa Roka when a Russian family pushed me into the van!) So I wouldn't let that put you off.
I prefer being away from the bustle of the mail tourist area and this hotel is nearer the quieter Old Town so that suits me just fine. Depends on the individual though.
My mate said the rooms are fab and decor really modern.

Have to say the rooms are very modern and well kitted out.
If your planning on doing any cooking in the apt then its 2 mins walk to the brand new big supermarket on the entry to the town & its at most 8 mins slow stroll to the town square and there are many Mehanas all around that area.
As for going up to the Brithish 24hr bars well its a good 20 min stroll up a fairly steep hill.
What did you think of the pool/saunsas/facilities? I found the pool much bigger than other hotels Ive ...
