Luggage weight

I have just heard from someone thats just been away (not Bulgaria) that they were not allowed to combined the luggage weight between two people and had to have two seperate cases.
They only found this out on the return, and so had to remove 3kg from the case into hand luggage or another bag!

Has anyone experienced this? We normally only take one case as its less lugging around!

I cant really see the logic in this as surely this means more cases to unload and wasted space in the hold!!!

last year though the lady at checkin in gatwick wasnt happy about the hand luggage weight even though it was between the 4 of us so it kinda depends who you get etc but we didnt get charged any more either time

Never experienced this before. 6 of us have just been and they just divided the luggage alowance between us as long as non were over 30 like Julia. Good job they did cause a couple of the lads had bags as big as them!!

re: Luggage weight

Our family of four travelled to Tenerife in October and thought that as usual we would share the weight allowance they made us change round the weight distribution 3 times until they were satisfied. In the end we stuffed some toiletries into our hand luggage as it was getting very embarrasing. I rang Balkan holidays to check for this weekend and they were adamant that no case would be accepted over the 20kg allowance. I rang Balkan holidays to check for this weekend and they were adamant that no case would be accepted over the 20kg allowance. So instead of us taking 2 cases and a holdall it looks like being 3 cases and a holdall, Its's all to do with the baggage handlers. I do think that it would be helpful to provide scales as you enter the terminal to check. Trying to weigh a suitcase on domestic scales is not easy!!

re: Luggage weight

Michelle,

Weigh yourself first, and then holding the case, the diff
is the weight of your case.

re: Luggage weight

As long as the baggage is not over 32kgs you will be fine
