Looking forward to returning to the Rila Hotel this year.
Can anyone who has stayed at the Rila recently tell me if the madness that occurs at the Ski Store on the first morning, trying to obtain hire ski's and boots, improved? This is usually the worst part of the holiday it is completely unorganised (bad tempers, being crushed and lost children is not my idea of fun) .
Maybe not, but that is surely an exception as in 13 years I have never known any chaos there whatsoever. Unlike in Andorra where about 200 skiers just threw their skis into a cage each night then it was a war the next day to find your skis.
This happened EVER morning.
In Pamporovo your skis are numbered and you have a rack number to put them in.
I would hazzard a guess that your problems were only for the one day.
I have to say I have been to both Pamporovo many times and also to Borovets. The first day is a nightmare in both, especially if you have welcomed yourself to Bulgaria in the traditional style the night before!! But day one removed, Pamporovo really is very organised. Turn up, show your number, get your gear and fly like a bird..... or a newly born baby giraffe in my case!!
