Yeah, we satyed in teh cahlets there last yr-end of feb. They are lovely and quaint, but a bit basic. I guess our major criticisms would be that they were very difficult to heat- we were pretty cold at night, and the staircase is very very steep-butmanageable.
We were right near the end- had about 500 yards up, what we lovingly called 'the path fo death' to get to and from it. Very icy, and needed to take it very carefully. I almost knocked myself out on the first evening slipping on the ...

We were right near the end- had about 500 yards up, what we lovingly called 'the path fo death' to get to and from it. Very icy, and needed to take it very carefully. I almost knocked myself out on the first evening slipping on the ice!. The staff were very friendly, and teh reastaurant food , I thought , for breakie at least was really good. To be honest we ate out in town every night.
It was lovely to have stayed in tehm once, but we made an immediate decision to go for a bit more luxury this yr- off end of feb again, but this lime to laplandia apt.
The heated bathroom floor was lovely. Oh, yeah-no kettle in ours last yr.

re: Malina Village

Are there any kitchen facilities in the Malina chalets? Nothing special, just somewhere to store milk and boil pasta would do. Plates would be a nice touch too.

Stayed there about 3 yrs ago..The chalet was awesome and the holiday was really cheap. The food in the restaurant was poor but eat in town anyway. The heated floor throughout was lovely. My best holiday in Borovets, went out and bought a place the next year.

Only problem with Malina is it was a few miles out of town so you have to get there ski bus or pay 10 lv (£4) for a taxi each way.

Yes, there was very basic kitchen facilities i.e. plates and cutlery. I think there was a fridge and definitely a hob as we used to boil water to make tea.

Hope this helps.

re: Malina Village

We stayed there last Feb half term. Our chalet was very warm to hot. Asked a couple of times for heating to be turned down. Sometimes had to leave the door open to cool it down. Stairs are steep, no use to elderly/disabled/toddlers. Fridge had minibar well stocked. One or two hot plates and one pan plus pot for heating water. Crockery/cutlery for 4 supplied. Chalet cleaned and clean towels put out daily. Path was icy but everywhere was icy when we went due to poor snowfalls all over Europe. ...

Chalet cleaned and clean towels put out daily. Path was icy but everywhere was icy when we went due to poor snowfalls all over Europe. Breakfast good and plentiful, dinner fair. We had pre-paid for half-board so wouldn't consider paying again to eat out in Pamporovo, would also involve taxi-fare 10-15lev each way. Convenient walking distance to ski depot 1/ski school meeting, 300-400yds approx? Best to ask for taxi at reception. There is a bar across road in new Malina Residence apartments.
