If you're coming out to Borovets & staying in Malina, a word of warning about the water.
We came over here on Sat, by Tuesday had no hot water & now have no cold either. Seems to be affecting all of Malina village. You can go over the road & use showers in Yagoda, but it is a real hassle.
You might want to have a word with your travel company / rep to make sure it's all OK before you arrive.
Going out half term to Malina Village on the 18th Half term. Other than the water(hopefully sorted by then) How far are the lifts from the village?
Where do you eat, we are half board?
Is there a kettle (even if no water)
What about local shops for food/snacks bottled water?
What about the heating in the place is it warm at night?
Got back Sat night, sorry for the delay in getting back to you all
Well, the hot water never re-appeared so we were without it from Tuesday to Sat. On Thursday the cold water went down to the merest hint of a trickle and the toilet packed in. The result was that we ended up filling a bucket in the shower & flushing that way instead. I think all the chalets had the same problem though because we saw a lot of people going over to Yagoda with washbags. There is a sauna & shower in Yagoda ...

There is a sauna & shower in Yagoda BUT it is geared up for people using the sauna so there is no privacy at all to the shower. However, the reception staff were understanding & did keep people out of the sauna if you were in the shower.
Apart from the absolute farce with water, the chalets themselves suited us really well & were really nice. There wasnt a kettle there though and the cooking facilities were very basic. We made coffee by boiling water in the saucepan then using a metal jug to scoop it into the cups. A bit basic, but it worked IYKWIM.
If you get meals included you eat in Yagoda across the road. We only had breakfast but there was more than an adequate selection of food (and we have 3 yr old kid !)
Heating in the chalets was fantastic. At all times it was exceptionally warm (particularly in the 2 bedrooms upstairs). There were thermostats in all the rooms & the bathroom had underfloor heating.
Transfer to lifts is by minibus. You can wait around for the normal one (it has no signs on it) this is free. Or you can get the Express minibus which is 3 Lev for adults. 1.50 Lev for kids. The driver of the Express was very nice, very accomodating & wont wait around to fill the minibus, he'll just take you as soon as you get in. The free bus stops at 16.30hrs but I think the Express goes into the evening.
