Malvern to Heathrow

It's so close now,! I can almost taste the snow in Bansko!

Hang on a minute, I can actually taste it! - and there is far too much of it here in Malvern, Worcs....so much in fact that we might not get out of our road, never mind the fabled land of Heath-Row.
It's snowing heavily, and looks likely to until late this evening - oo-err.

Anyone got road condition updates for M5/Birdlip/M4 etc?

Do you think Czech Airlines would wait for us...?

Blimey !! I think I would keep clear of Birdlip. You stop for a drink at the Air Balloon.

Having said that I think it will still be open tonight/tomorrow. It is too major a road now for the gritters to be caught out.

re: Malvern to Heathrow

I live just 15 minutes (on a good day!) from the Air Balloon, along a B road going off the A417 up the hill from said pub.

It has been horrid here most of the day, but right now (7.30pm) is is raining and all that snowy stuff is getting very slushy. I haven't heard any reports of trouble along that way, and my neighbour who drives from Cheltenham has got home in his Audi so it can't be too bad at the moment.

However as the temps drop overnight it is going to get quite icy, but as enry ...

Have a great trip, and allow plenty of time to get to Heathrow.

re: Malvern to Heathrow

Thanks everyone - I've decided to fit the snowchains (of course, in driving snow, getting dark, f**ing and b***ing, but they're on) which should get me onto clear road and the M5.
So I'll have to leave even earlier so I can get them off - I need a holiday after all this!

re: Malvern to Heathrow

Just heard from another friend who told me it took him 2 hours to drive home from Droitwich to Little Witley!

You must have it bad up in Worcs!

Take care and drive safely.
