March Conditions

Can anyone please tell me what the snow conditions are like at the begining of march.

last march in borovets the conditions were perfect, loads of snow. the first week anyway. going again this march so fingers crossed should be the same. best cross the toes as well looking at the weather theyve had so far.

Hi Phil,
We have a few bulgarian friends including a ski instructor. All of them live very close to the resort of Borovets. Everyone of them say that March is the very best time to go and that the snow is always at its best at that time of year.
They told me you can ski in a t-shirt at that time of year because the weather is so nice.

we could'nt ski in a t-shirt last March was realy cold and the snow was unreal. take a look at the webcam archives and you get some idea of what it was like.

March generally is great for sking. Still plenty of snow and the weather is warmer. Longer bright days and much much much less crowded on the slopes. Was in Bansko from the 12th to the 19th March last year and the sking was excellent Will be there the last week in Feb this year.

Was in Bansko first week of March last year, boarding, and the snow was top notch. Although Mother Nature (being a woman) can throw tantrums from time to time, March is often the best month, anywhere. Having travelled a fair bit I can say the Bansko snow rates alongside anything else within reason, and as a result am going back the week before you.

Have been to borovets twice previous and both in March, conditions were good and the weather was also grand, going the last week of february this year and me and my pal are hoping that the weather/snow will be just as good.

went to borovets last year returned 3 march loads of snow when we left the days were sunny at lunchtime you could sit out with just t shirt on with the sun shining on you lovely!!!!!!!! the only thing is the friday we were there was bulgarian bank holiday so the gondola queues were huge hence we dcided to go a week later so to miss it although it did not spoil our hol. have fun

Skied last year in March, perfect conditions, plenty of snow and sunshine, and as said not as busy!
