Markudjik 3 and surface lift.

Came to borovets last year same week 2nd march, and these were not open then. Have they been this year?
Looks like it could be a nice run but my aversion to hiking (bought a lift pass and not walking up any bloody hills / too old for that sxxt) means I've not skied it.
Does it open or will it be a write off again?

It has not been open but you can traverse across from the top of the chair lift, it does not get you as high as the drag but there is still lots of off piste to do.

Hi Tim,

We were in Boro a couple of days later than you last year and M3 did open up for a couple of days. We used it to ski across to the off piste hut past the avalanche bowl. Shame you missed it as it was a great off piste adventure!

Even if it's not open this year I might try hiking up a little from the chair lift and then over to see if I can get there again.

I've rarely seen it open but as has been said, it is possible to get over to the avalanche bowl by turning left at the top of the 4 man on marky 2. Don't go beyond the marked area or you could be in trouble but there is plenty of off piste to be had around there. Unless of course they pisted since last week
