Totally agree, don't knock it until you've tried it. It is also one of the oldest tricks in the book and one of the favoured ways that our roughty toughty arm lads keep warm when they are out on patrol in the winter.

This reminds me of when I took my son to EuroDisney for New Year when he was aged 2 (6 yr ago) and I bought girls thick woollly tights for him to wear under his jeans as we were told it would be VERY cold - which it was. Even then my friends were like "no - putting him in GIRLS tights!!!" - as if he would know at age 2!!! I think they thought I was introducing 'feminine tendancies' to him even at that young age!
