I have a company mobile which I will not be allowed to use while away in Bansko next week.Is it best to get a a PAYG sim over here(if so which one) and put some top up on it or is it better to get one in Bulgaria?
It will mainly be used for texting back home with the occasional phone call.

I got a O2 sim simplicity sim, i get 600texts a months, when im abroad it takes 4 of your text allowance to send 1 text. if its a long message which takes up 2 texts, then it will cost me 8 of my allowance. When i went to Oktoberfest in Munich last year i sent about 15 texts which used about 60 to 80 of my allowance and i didnt go over.

Sorry i cant offer advice on calls because i never call anyone when im abroad. Just texts.re: Mobile Phone
if u pay 10pounds to 02 for "my travel europe".on your payg/simplicity all your incoming calls r free torecieve.then it is 26p a minute to make calls. The 10 pound covers u for 1month)however if someone from home is calling you and have free minutes.it wont cost then r u as it is free for them to call and free for you to recieve.

ibought a bg sim card but it was purely to contact people in BG, if you want it for calling back to the uk then have a word with your network operator/check what payg deals you can get, If it will be to contact other members of your group in bg then i recommend you all get bg sims, they cost around 7lv (£3.50) including 5lv credit but bear in mind they need to be registered so you'll need a passport with you to do this. You'll also need to make sure your phone is unlocked to all networks ...
