Monastery Apts - Bansko

Hi,We are heading here on the 25th Feb and wondered what the apartments are like?? We have had a slightly offputting report of building works nearby and hope that this won't effect us too much!! Are the apartments finished and is there an update on the boarders funpark??

Just got back from Bansko and had an absolutely wonderful time.. we stayed in the Monastry Apts and was a little disappointed with the facilities available.... but ... don't let that put you off ...the Apts are brand new and really are very nice indeed ..... Very warm and laid out well.... I hope you are are not television addicts .... the TV's are in the rooms but they forgot to put the aerial on the roof!! and cabling thru to each apt.... Make sure you ask for clean towels because ...

Reception (well if you can call it a reception) is VERY cramped and be careful of the black ice outside the building ...it's trecherous... The bar is not available nor is the Sauna and fitness room ....I think this must be the main reason why Neilson downgraded them from a four star to three... The staff can't speak very good english but a fella called Anthony (limited english) seems to be the person to speak with if you have any problems... We used the facilities of the Hotel Tanne which is literally just across the road... they will let you ring home too and its very cheap.... The walk to the gondola station takes about 15 mins tops ...Lots of building work going on so be careful when walking... All in all we had a great time the skiing in Bansko is superb and the weather was wall to wall sunshine every single day...

Paul, how far are the apartments from most of the bars and restaurants? Also was there any sign of the bar, sauna and fitness room opening soon, or have they just given up?
