We have just got our credit card bill through after a trip to Borovets, just to warn you, we changed £100.00 3 times at one of the change kiosks and duly got 280 levs back, however on our credit car it is showing £120 and 346 levs, there is also a separate charge for the transaction. So make sure if you do use your credit card, check the receipts and keep them just incase you need to dispute them later....
The best way to get money out cheaply is on your debit card at the ATM. Halifax charged me £1.50 for taking out 400 levs (£141) so a rate of 2.82 was given which wasn't half bad - And the ATM should give you a receipt showing the rate. Banks in chepelare exchange rate for cash exchange were 2.92-2.98 or so - so really good in all.
