re: Money

Sterling before you go, change into levs at the hotels (some may advise the little booths but it was more convienient for me to change at the hotel)
No torn or defaced sterling notes will be accepted though!
Enjoy

re: Money

The reason you get conflicting advice is that Bulgaria used to be a closed currency. I.e you could not take Levs in our out of the country. However this is no longer the case.

If you take sterling make sure your notes are newish no rips or writing on and not scottish. However you can get a good rate @ M&S or Barclays around 2.70 to the pound then you could change before you go. In resort you will be getting 2.70-2.80 difference is pennies so dont worry about it.
