More Bansko stuff

Thanks guys for all the kind replies to my post (see Bansko Report)
Mal, we must stop meeting this way.... from our tender words by the chair lift to our 'Big Fat Bulgarian Argument' further down the slopes, then more dismay as we discovered that we were staying at the same hotel and had no choice but to kiss and make up, then just as we thought it was safe to go down to breakfast another awkward meeting at the toast machine!!!
Since i got back ive been having fantasies of Mal being ...

Since i got back ive been having fantasies of Mal being Savaged by Rabid Huskies outside the 'Bla Bla' (really must stay away from the Spam)

Only joking!

I forgot to mention the first morning... yes its true you need to arrive at the ski hire place at first light in order to get your boots etc, you will be met by the boot man.... we called him Speedy Gonzalez coz he was soo quick! If only, every time someone asks the him for a pair of boots he raises his eyes to the sky (honest! You'll see)
Then after sweating about two pounds in weight off, losing a glove and giving lots of people evils coz they dont realise that there is a que system (just stand behind the people who look like they have lost the will to live)
Anyways once you got ya boots you need to get ya Ski's and poles, they seem to be fine on ski's but poles are a problem hence i had one pole longer than the other and the other was bent but after not falling over on the first day i figured they were my 'lucky poles' so didnt ask to change. Mum on the other hand had been skiing with poles too small and when she went into change them it was a total nightmare, in the end she had to arm wrestle the guy just to get a pair who just gave her someone elses poles, (sorry someone else)

Next was the Gondola,

Day one:
All the foreign people at the front and all us nice English people queing orderly at the back commenting on how jolly this was and how we wernt going to start being all continental and push in.
Day Two:
Get to the Gondola before all the other ******* !
Rats they had the same idea, so get pushed to the back again while three year old little darlings run thru ya legs.
Day Three:
Eat loads of Garlic laced Spam for breakfast, join the qeue at the front (steady on now) and PUSH!! Yep, when in rome and all that you just have to be a bit ruthless otherwise you would never get to ski school on time,
Once you are on the Gondola tho it is lovely and quiet, you meet other Garlic breathed people, you have time for a chat, put on your sunscreen, lipsalve, shave you legs, do an easy suduko puzzle.

And finally (i bet you thought i would never shut up)
Bulgarian People:
Bulgarians are just like us really, some of us are nice and friendly some of us are right bloody misogs, you will meet both types,
One day i was sitting at a table in a resturant on the slopes when the waiter just literally leaned over me nearly knocking the spam off my fork to pick up a menu - I mean like hello! But elswhere the people were lovely, apart from the man in the Boot room of the Strazhite, he doesnt say a word amd looks like any minute he's gonna club you over the head and carry you back to his cave! (i'm sure his mum loves him)

And finally,
If you have any left over levs (6 to be exact) did you know that when you get to Sofia Airport you can have your case shrink wrapped and sellotaped round about four hundred times in a special machine, Those crazy Bulgarians.. what are they like!!

The End.
