Off to Central London again today, whilst I'm away can some of you guys help with some questions.
Is the hire gear on a first come first serve basis - most of my group are beginners, but I have skiied quite a few times - or do they allocate according to ability. i.e will I be likely to get some decent carvers etc.
Will they stagger the welcome meetings to avoid hundreds of people going after the hire shop at the same time.

Hi all
Off to Central London again today, whilst I'm away can some of you guys help with some questions.
Most of my group are also smokers, what is the local equivalant to Marlboro Lights or B & H - also can I get Panama type cigars.
We usually arrive late Saturday night. The rep meets us at 8:00is (or after) the following morning to hand out skii packs - it is NOT the welcome meeting. If I remember correctly the busses start at 8:30. Pick up outside the large hotels (Pamporovo last) and take the 10 minute journey to the snow shack at the bottom of the slopes. Morning Mike.
Skiis are hired on a 1st come 1st served basis.
There are a couple of hotels and challets down near the snow shack, in which case you don't need to get a BUS! Taxi's from the resord are usually about 10lev. You want to be down there pretty sharpish on the 1st day as it can be a bit of a bun fight.
You then all gather outside the boot room and the instructors will eventually come and round you up and sort you into groups - by ability, usually "how many times have you ski'ed before?". If you end up in the wrong group, you can usually swap about after the 1st day.
The welcome meeting is usually at about 6:00pm on the 1st evening.
Sorry, can't help you too much with the cigs etc as we don't smoke. I have seen a few postings from PP, I think he recommends the local brand - Victory I think as most branded cigs are fake and c**p. I have put a posting about cigars before, but were directed to a town a couple of bus rides away.
I am sure you have told us before, but what hotel are you staying in?
Not sure what the equivalant is.
I have been told that you can buy brand names, on the streets as they sell them out of suit cases. They are £10 for 200, as the week goes on they get more expensive and go up to £15.
Happy smoking!!
Mike the first day(well morning) is a bit of a nightmare very slow and crowded with everyone trying to get the gear. But after this it is fine no problems at all. From what I have seen on here it looks like you have to ask for the carvers if they dont give you them I certainly will be! Perhaps you will have to grease a palm with some Lev
Everyone seems to be getting really "hyped up" for the coming weeks. I wish PP'd hurry and post up although to be fair, he is on his well deserved holidays so fair play. I'm off next Sat 7th from Belfast - anyone else staying at the Snezhanka that week or the next apart from those I already know, Little Fleety et al? All packed and ready to go - can't wait.
With Crystal / Thompson, we all got our vouchers from 9am - 10am on Monday morning and then they bus you down to the ski depot. Nearly all our group were issued carvers - and that's in a learn to ski class - mind you, they didn't do din settings on the bindings for anyone.
Our Thompson welcome meeting was at 5pm on Monday, the Crystal one was at 7pm.

Loads of people staying at Snezhanka this week saying how fantastic it is - one family have been given a two level suite as they paid the #2 supplement for a bigger room.
Hope all that helps - I'll give PP a kick and get him to write a report - as promised.
