I own an apartment in MR3 and spend most of the winter here so I have a good idea of the real position.
MR3 It is not a hotel as such. There is a small spa etc and a very small bar (I have never seen anyone use it). The building is reasonably close to the gondola but it requires you walking up an unmade road past a building site for about 200 yards or so.
The noise insulation between the apartments is awful, therefore expect to be disturbed every time anyone walks across a floor above ...

The noise insulation between the apartments is awful, therefore expect to be disturbed every time anyone walks across a floor above or below you, shuts a door, opens a cupboard (yes, it really is that bad). Many of the showers/shower trays leak so take great care in the small bathrooms as the floors can be extremely dangerous.
The latest issue (which may not bother you) is that the cable TV signal is failing. Therefore, unless you like NOVA TV (a local channel) then you will not be seeing much unless it is via a very poor picture. Apparently it will not be corrected this season and may be looked at in the summer!
The actual area surrounding MR3 is pretty grim (half built apartments/large unoccupied Neon apartment/builders' rubble etc).
MR3 is not next to the ice rink, it is behind it (with the unmade road separating the rear of the ice rink with the front of MR3), you soon get use to the music from the ice rink though.
There is not really much more to say, the design is much the same as the many other blocks in the area. I guess the only real positive is that it is closer than many blocks to the gondola.
Hi Jeremy,
it looks like the management of your building needs a kick up the arse a bit to at least keep or imrpove things that can be dealt with.
If you and your neighbors need some help on that, please let me know. I could maybe help you to get someone decent to look after the building since you're most probably paying for it.
Thank you very much for the info. I dont know yet which room we are going. My friend booked it by tripadvisor or some other cheap site. There are 4 guys on our group so I think the location is the main thing for us. The guality was the same on the complete opposite side of town and we had to pay a taxi to the gondola every morning.
Yes, we are paying for it but, sadly, some of the people at Winslow (not all) are just a joke...others in MR7 and MR9 will soon find out just how very bad some in Winslow locally really are...if only Winslow knew what was being said about them on numerous forums!
There are moves to replace Winslow as the self-appointed managers of MR3 and since the latest nonsense from them I am now fully supporting that but as Winslow own a number of apartments in MR3 this may take some ...
