Hmmm ... as an ex-quizmaster I'll go with the referee's decision ... but I bet if you get an Encyclopedia old enough it'll say the world is flat Razz ... one of the links from that website (the same one IMT went to by the looks of things) tells you the naming history.

S'ok ... didn't fancy a weekend in Wales that much anyway Very Happy ... but if I see ya in Bulgaria I want a pint for coming close. Or two. Booze Booze

Sorry Pete I am with Robert on this one every site I have visisted says it was invented by David Warren. Could not find a definitive answer as to why it is called a black box many think it was coined by the media because in the case of a plane crashing the info would be said to be Black. Also the original was black. So I declare the quiz to be nul a void and demand a RECOUNT!!!! Very Happy
