yes, I know...I suffered last week with 'memoria' and a low bloodpressure but finally get the energie to do some 'work'

Borovets, 4-11 March 2006
Left with Thomas Cook special charter from Brussels at 7.45h and arrived in Sofia around 11h. There at the airport the first surprise: Banana (ski instructor) was in companion with the rep holding a card for Neckermann Belgium! then later in the bus the second surprise: hotel Samokov was overbooked and 5 rooms has to move to new hotel/appts. Flora.. We (group of 6) agreed. This was not a bad move coz the new appartments were very good, (especially my room 220B: I had a real room with 2 beds, closet, nightlamps. Other 'rooms' were just a salon with a small matras of 6 cm!!! no closet.), so ask for one with real beds! Every room has a small kitchenette in it but I haven't test it if everythings works Evening dish was not so good (you had to say witch number you want) but I survived on the starters (mostly the famous patatosoup & dessert and a few bites..)
Hotel Flora is very central to everything and especially to bar Hrima! Nazdrave..!
The Albena skischool the next day: yes as always overcrowded at 10am but arrive late and that nervous behaviour is over..
The first skiing day for me was a disaster coz the school had given me K2 long skis! not my kind of type to ski so I stopped after 1 hr. and took the time to chit chat at the terras with Israeli people and a bulgarian instructor Alexander aka. Sacho.
A little warning about Sacho, his looks isn't young anymore (I think around 75??) but a tanned face and a couple of seablue eyes
is still a deadly combination and he uses it!
Day 2-6: I asked the school if they have allready a pair of Orions free..they did so from that day on I had back my convidence and skied the slopes with fun! woohoo!
Monday 6 March: the bulgariaski meet..
well a typical weather: it started to rain that evening so I didn't looked at my best when I entered the Titanic just after 9pm.
After a first look I decided to go around and ask at some tables..
yup! little Chris and co., Liz and family, some others I forgot the names (SCUSI!), Mark and his gang, and later on the famous Robert TK! Also hanging around the bar: Sinjoor and his friends from Belgium and offcourse almost the whole Dutch group!
(hallo Hampie, Happie Hampie, .. )
So the belgian chocs went from one table to another, even the Titanic crew 'grabbled' them
From that night I started to snow so the conditions were perfect to ski! phoe!
Ski-doo riding: some trees didn't survived my special turns but ey..I did it! Finally discoverd the area for skijumping and also watched some youngsters learning it!
Did you know that they have to go that hill up all on foot?? not easy when you carry those looooong skis..
Enfin, surprise nr. 3 came along:
I went one evening for a sauna in hotel Flora, floor -1: there's a beautifull big Irish pub next to the spa!!! I went inside to have a closer look and suddenly a blond girl came to me and spoke: Hello Tan, kak si! HHHUUUUHHHH??? it was Nevena, the girl I met with bulgarian friends in Sunny Beach 2004!!!
She asked me if I wanted to come to her birthdayparty, offcourse I said yes and missed the nightskiing with fire..but I didn't regret doing this: the chalga music was flying around my ears and all her bulgarian friends (also some from Albena 2005) were very nice to me and I had THE evening of the week!!
Even the buzz bar which I visited 3 times can't give that feeling back!
Moral of all this: every year it's getting better & better!

just read the reports of borovets well i allways say its everyone to their own some like some dont life would b very boring if we all liked the same places gosh we moan about ques now imagine if therewas only 1 placeon earth that everyone liked it would b terrible, well for theft if you are in a foriegn country some people blame them but it could be people from the same country that you had a drink with last night couldnt it? i would like to know of a country were there is no crime o i know the moon praps ill go on holiday and live there...
