New Year or Half Term- What's Best?

Went to Borovets for New Year and loved it. Now booking for next year but our friends want to go at half term instead. I suppose the snow conditions would be better then, but someone told me the resort would be packed & full of kids. Can anyone recommend which would be the best week please? (Can't go in term time as work in a school). Thanks for your help. Alison.

Hard to say really,
May be better snow at half term, there again with this world, and this year to prove, may not! (Usually have snow though).
Certainly will be busier at half term I would imagine, but quite atmospheric at New year, a good old party to be had!
How did you rate this new year, was the snow and skiing adequate, if so go for it again.

i'll tell you which is better when i come back.
we went out for 9 days at christmas and new year this last year and are due to go back out again on the 10th for half term-going to borovets.

I have been for New Year and at half term. The atmosphere was good at NY but the skiing better at half term, both times were busy. Going back at half term this year.

Half term might be your best bet. Not only will the snow be better, but not all schools have same half term week in Feb so might not be as busy as you think. We don't finish until 16th this year - a week later than a lot of others

Easy do both
I reckon half term would be quieter, New Year is hectic with it being a big Bulgarian celebration

Never been at either time so not really in a position to give good advice!
