Hi folks,
We went last year to Bansko and this coming year we will again have a nnumber of people that have not skiied before, so going back seems the right decision given the prices.
However I wonder if anyone knows if there are any new runs planned next year? There are some people in our party who can ski very well and will clock up 50-80km in a day in the big French resorts, so wondered if a new areas are going to be opened up.
Well roger, crammed
yes we all know bansko is a huge building site at the present time, I was there the later part of feb this season and had no trouble queing the lifts if you play the system. There does not appear to be an increase in flights from britain going from Birmingham or Gatwick.
so far for next season, it looks as if we might be safe for another season at least.
hywl fawr, & ffelau aros.

So where about is Dobnnshte from the main Gondola link?
There were suppose to be two other runs open on the right hand side but at the time we were there not enough snow I think
Hi Tony - as Fiona said it is the next village east of Bansko. There is a chairlift several km's south from the village - a bit like Bansko ski area was before the gondola and expansion took place.
From the info I have seen it will be a seperate ski area from Bansko with it's own gondola access from Dobrinishte village but hopefully the operators of both ski areas can come to an agreement about linking them together/having a multi-area ski pass.

There are further plans for another ski area near Razlog (the next village north of Bansko) but do not know any details.
As for Bansko there was word of the chairlift to the west of the current ski area (right hand side of gondola as you exit the top) being replaced with a new one but that may have been rumours.
