Yes of course, the Stone Hut. I've only eaten there and it's very nice. I would not have thought that it would be the height of luxury if staying, i mean have you ever used the toilet there? It might also be a little interesting if there was a strong wind but the view at breakfast could be breathtaking. As for the stuff you are taking, sounds like plenty to me.
We are flying from Gatwick on the 6 am ish easyjet flight. Is that the flight you lot are on too? If so, we shall look out for a rowdy group of 14. I put up a silly photo to aid in our identification.
The Stone Hut and it's WC situation might be a deal breaker. It's not a hole in the ground is it?
We do plan on hiring a Skidoo and I think sledging would be a blast.

Hi Fraser & Emjay,
Thank you for your suggestions.

We are on to the Sports Direct and Skiwear4less websites. Looks good. We are going to try another TKMaxx this weekend.
I think we will try and get the photochromic goggles, slightly more but, it seems to me worth it.
Is it worth spending the money for Gore-tex trousers/salopettes? I'd prefer to spend a bit more and get something that will last.
Sorry confused by the "lock in" comment. Would it not be the sun rising?
The lock-in was something that happened in previous years where you waited in a bar/restaurant at the top with the owner who is also a ski/board instructor then you came down with head torches in the dark....
Hi
If you have a good pair of ski trousers you may not need any bottom layers unless you are skiing flat out you should be quite warm. With regard to socks take a few pairs as your feet can tend to get wet and damp. Also for the evening make sure you have shoes or boots with good grips on as once the sun goes down it turns quite slippy. You will find practical takes over from fashion in ski resorts.

The lock in was something that happened in 'The White House' run by Bobby and Kas. This is not 'The Stone Hut' and I believe they are not operating the white house this season but concentrating on 'Bobby's Bar'. The stone hut is very close to the white house. As to the toilet in the stone hut, no it isn't a hole in the ground. The point is, there is no ground. It's built sticking out of a mountain.
I'm not going out on the 8th, it's the 16th for me.
If it helps, I only wear a base layer ...

If it helps, I only wear a base layer under my ski wear
Problem that I find with full length base layer SP is they are too tight to sit on the top of the calf and therefore end up somewhere around the ankle. This bothers me as it can be uncomfortable under the boot. I now wear 3/4 length base layer with long socks. My legs don't get cold but I do admit to wearing one of those special running tops over my base layer although I notice a growing trend for people to wear football shirts
Don't wear anything on my legs apart from salopettes. But there again I have that much strapping on them it would take 20 degrees of frost to get through.
