Newbie Snow Panic

Hi All,
Sorry for the boring question that's probably been ask many times before but I have a party of 8 all going to Borovets on the 26th Feb for our very first skiing holiday. None of us have been before and when picking where to go Borovets looked perfect given the fun nightlife, good value and relatively easy ski conditions. Hi All,
Sorry for the boring question that's probably been ask many times before but I have a party of 8 all going to Borovets on the 26th Feb for our very first skiing holiday. None of us have been before and when picking where to go Borovets looked perfect given the fun nightlife, good value and relatively easy ski conditions. Problem is as lead booking man I am now starting to panic about the weather as I note the current snow fall is not going stick around for long and the long range forecast is showing 16 degrees by mid month? Is this normal...I assumed when booking that by the end of Feb we could be confident we would be deep in snow but now I'm starting to doubt it? I fully appreciate previous snow falls are no guarantee of snow moving forward and nobody controls the weather etc etc but can anybody reassure me that it will be OK as I'm starting to get this horrible sinking feeling?
Thanks

Hi,

I understand your sinking feeling...

BUT!... I can't remember getting bad snow late feb, in fact it's my favourite time to go. I'm there saturday for 10 days and the 22nd for a week and i'm thinking things will be a lot better then!

I know that doesn't help but late feb has always worked for me.

Chin up!

Hi Andrew,

Just to reiterate what Glen has said, we have been to Bulgaria for the last 6 years, 5 of them in the 1st. week of March and there has always been plenty of snow to allow everyone to ski as much as they want. Out again 4th March to Borovets and I really hope that you have as much fun as we intend to regardless of the amount of snow there is. I'm sure you will all have a fantastic time.

16 degrees mid month ???? dunno what weather report you have read, but the local forecast is predicting the opposite ?
Snow is fickle, and this season so far has been hit and miss. Although the actual depth is way down on the average, conditions are good. More snow forecast this weekend, and ongoing the temps look to be average, dipping in mid Feb.... You have till the 28th, honestly, the snow just doesn't disappear overnight, we still have snow capped mountains in July Very Happy

re:Newbie Snow Panic

Look, the weather report my state Borovets but the actual weather station could be some distance away. That's why you get conflicting reports. Some sites must use a station near Sofia for Borovets, obviously in that case you will get a forecast very wide of the mark
