Next Xmas

Having not long got back from Borovets, I am looking to book for next season. Hubby has to have a week off at Xmas and I was wondering if any of you out there that go every Xmas could let me know what the ski conditions are generally like. Hubby is a bit worried about the lack of snow that week!! I have been looking at the chalets behind the Samokov and they look really good. Anyone stayed in them and what is the security like (safety dep box)? Thanks in advance for any advice.

We stayed there last Christmas. It was good fun but there was a shortage of snow on the upper slopes only 1 drag lift open at the top of the gondolas and you couldn't ski all the way down. The nursery slope outside the Rila was fine as they had a snow machine and from the double chairs you could do the blue run but it was very icy. This was fine for our daughter who was a first timer.
We are going half term week this year as we really enjoy it anyway.

We stayed in Pamps. Christmas 2002, the Hotel held special dinners and entertainment for Christmas Eve and Christmas day. The ski runs were open and it was business as usual, there was snow although by the end of the week it was getting icy. Even if you don't ski there are things to do. At least you have plenty of time to decide.
