Nigel no friends

4 of us are heading for Borovets on Saturday, all for the first time. I board and the other 3 are taking beginners lessons in one way or another but I think/hope Im past that so will be giving it a miss. Is it going to be easy enough find the best runs without the aid of a teacher/guide or do people recommend joining a suitable group for lessons out there?

Do the teebar run (assuming you can ride a teebar on a snowboard. It's definately the best run in my opinion. head down from the top of the gondola and take a left where you see the mopuntain rescue hut and the top of the teebar.

have fun

I would consider my self an intermediate-ish snowboarder ... i.e. I could get down a black but wouldn't enjoy it. I always feel that it's better to get a few hours of lessons at the start of a week just to get back in the swing and iron out any bad habits that have snuck into my technique.
It also helps to have a few hours with a local instructor with good knowledge of the resort ... he/she will be able to tell you the best runs for your ability and where to find the best snow ... and pubs.

That reminds me ... I can handle a t-bar on the board, but tend to have the odd wobble if I have to share it ... do they mind if you take it all for yourself?

T-bars arent a problem but I usually wait for another odd boarder for company/balance. Must admit though, not been on many t-bars, especially on my own. Dont think theyll have an issue with people riding solo on them so long as they dont cause a scene and cause the lift to stop.

on that tee-bar there are so few people using it that solo is not an issue...also you are out of sight of the operator for most of the pull, it's sooooooooooooooo long. Must be well over a mile
