Thanks for all the info.

My mates and me are off in March, really looking forward to it. On the basis of what I have read, it should be really good. Makes a change from the expensive central European resorts Very Happy

re: Night life in Borovets

I have only ever been to Bulgaria to ski but i have heard other Euro places are expensive. Lets hope Bulgaria doesn't up its prices too much if they join the EU next year! Glad to give you info, ask me anything you like, I love talking about it!!!

I agree, went to Switzerland a few years ago and that cost a bomb.

Did you ski or board? I was wondering if you knew of any good runs. I've only just switched to boarding so I'm no expert

re: Night life in Borovets

I was skiing for the first time. Seemed to me that boarders spent a lot of time on their bums!! Wink I liked skiing from the top of the gondola to the mid station which is a combo of green and blue runs I think. There is a nice green run through the trees on the Rila slopes but some parts are quite flat and hard work! Are you having lessons? The instructors take you to all the best places. Ours was fab, had us doing reds by the end of the week. Exclamation

I'm not that bad Wink My friends are having lessons but I'm off on my todd for a couple of days, until they get to grips with it.

I did used to ski, I find boarding more fun. You should give it a go once you crack skiing.

I'm going with my uncles on 25th and I can't wait. They were there last year and they said that you would be so tired after skiing that all you want to do it go to bed where as i haven't been there before and I hope that i can ski in the day and go out at night. What do you think? Would you be tired after skiing in the day?

Camel Packs are the way forward mate- I got 1 for crimbo and chucked it in the case to keep the missus happy. Anyways- 2 litres of water in the night before and left it on the balcony before heading out- out till 5 most mornings-back up for 9 on the slopes-still blootered but with my camel pack-sooked away all day and felt magic!! My mates kept stopping for bottles of water and to spew-cost them a bomb!

Long live the camels!

re: Night life in Borovets

I found that if you have a kip after skiing in the afteroon and then a shower you should be ok to party after skiing. Brandy and hot chocolate at lunch time will also give you a boost!!

re: Night life in Borovets

1 lev for a vodka and coke? you must have had quite a few if you thought that was the price Razz

Most drinks in buzz bar are around the 3 lev mark (including Vodka & coke), which at just over £1 is still a bargin considering the measures. There is a little bar around the back somewhere which they go to on the bar crawl. That had a dance floor too, shame thats all i remember about the place though. Sad

Buzz Bar is definately the best place though.
