Nights in Samokov

Evening all! I'm a long standing viewer of the forum but never needed to register & post...until now.

I'm skiing Borovets for the second year with a group of 7, going out on feb 28th. The difference is, this year we've opted to stay at White Orchid Lodge, a villa on the outskirts of Samokov. Having never stayed outside Borovets before, I was wondering if there were any recommended/friendly/lively bars in Samokov?

Of course we'll be visiting the bars in boro (Bobby's included!), but ...

re:Nights in Samokov

Lots of good restaurants in Samokov, try the Old House for typical traditional Bulgarian food, Target more English type food, Bonita for pizza and pasta and there are loads more and all really good value.
Several night clubs that I have heard are good
Wink
One is called Amnesia but I can't remember where it is.

You will have a great choice of good and cheap bulgarian restaurants. Old house is the best choice, even to visit Tschanovete and Tschatrata for bulgarian kitchen. Nightlife is not so busy as in Borovez.

I agree with Gerry and Sune, the Old House is my favourite restaurant for typical Bulgarian food. The prices are also loads cheaper than in Borovets!

re: Nights in Samokov

best value meal in Samokov to my knowledge is the Kymaka but somebody else will need to spell it properly. You can have 3 courses and a drink for about £6.5 depending on the exchange rate and they will take a credit card which will help you get an even better exchange rate

Hi Emjay,

I think its called Kaymakaynova Kushta, it;s opposite Target Restaurant and further up the street. Had a meal there last week and at Stara Kushta (old house) and have to say Kaymakaynova was better. Kas told me about it in last November. Cinema is also good for pizza (in the square with the ice rink).

The only lively bar i've notices is the one next to Bonitas, called ......... club (arrggh cant remenber) i had a few drinks in there last november, quite a young crowd but ...
