Would be interested in changing money at a bank in the resort due to the better exchange rate but does anyone have any experience of changing irish stirling. The notes look a bit different. Can probably get hold of english notes but crisp new ones might be a problem.
Not sure about this year but in previous years many tourists from Ireland and Scotland have found it very difficult to exchange their currencies in Bulgaria.
changed a few ulster bank stirling notes at the 24hour supermarket exchange in dec08, but u r better with english notes r just use the hole in the walls in pamps
Save yourself the hassle and get your Bank of Ireland, Ulster/Northern/First Trust Bank notes changed into Bank of England. If you call into Marks and Spencer Bureau de Change or give any bank a call and check if they have the Bank of England notes in stock, it'll not be a problem to change them. Some places in Bulgaria will take the Norther Irish notes but it'll take up too much time as they discuss and check them.
