We are going to Borovets on Sunday (8th Jan) and are staying at the Hotel Victoria. I don't think we will be doing any skiing on this trip as we are just looking for a bit of R&R.
My hubby thinks he saw a video clip of people dog sledding in Borovets, does anybody know if they do this as a tour and who is best to book through?
every body laughs on a ski holiday. First timer you'll love it. Just make sure you have correct fitting gear. So your heading out on Saturday, have a great time.
well from what i've been reading on this forum it's seems like the idea of coming to Borovets for a quiet break is starting to sound more like a busmans holiday o yes bring it on.
Its true what they say, you gotta laugh at yourself 1st ski hol. I only learnt for my 40th but best thing I've ever done in my life!!!
Push your self HARD, take yourself out of your comfort zone and I promise its worth it!
Shame you're not going for longer but at least you'll get an idea of skiing/snow boarding. Bet you're out again this season, might even see you 2nd week March!
Hope you enjoy it, let us know how you get on.
A word of warning....... no R & ...

Hi. Make sure you take either boots or shoes/trainers with good tread on the bottoms for walking around in in the evening as it gets slippery. The idea is to be safe not fashionable.

Agree wholeheartedly with dbut, my husband seems to have become an expert at landing on his a*!e in the evenings as the paths/roads can be quite icy.
You can't go to a ski resort in winter and not have at least 1 lesson. Jon didn't learn to ski until he was 40 and now i can't keep him away from the slopes as Hilly says put in the effort and you will be hooked.
And at the end of the day there will always be a warm welcome and a crackling log fire to relax by in Bobbys

Not seen dog-sledding in Boro, Pamps yes, but not Boro... There are though atb's and ski-doos, horse riding and sleigh rides...
As for getting around on foot, saw a great pair of boots in the Rila hotel shopping arcade, one of the small ski shops, the boots had screw in steel alloy cleats, replacing rubber ones, and they were quite cheap (about £40), not a well known make, Chinese i imagine (as everything is now) but seemed well made..
