In Borovez are different possibilities to walk and hike and even enough snowed forest walks, for a nice short walk you can go to the Malina/Jagoda village area walk starts near Bulgarian Dish restaurant and brings you to the forest, you can follow the path till it becomes the bigger walk, left side you will reach the Malina, good chance for a cheap eating and a fantastic Panorama view at the Royal Hotel and the small restaurant 200m in front of it.
If you walk the big walk right up you will reach first "Black Rocks" a view and a short trip ´may be an hour away from Rila Hotel. If you follow the path you will reach the 4 seat lift and a half hour later the Chaka Voivoda Hut.Both ways needs you 5 to 5,5 hour.
The other major walk is the path to the Mussala Hut. Starts upside the Chalet Bistritza, the royale Chalet of the former bulgarian King and the former Primier Minister Simeon, heard about you can visit it too. The walk to the Mussala is a bit more difficult, because more snow and aplitude. The first part of it to the secound bridge is a nice short trip for 45 min. If you walk up to Mussala hut becareful, at the last bridge, not sure what it is like this year. The trip is 6 to 6,5hour long.

You can even walk to Yastrebez Hotel or have other trips to Maljovitza, first going to Govedaritz.

In the Samokov Hotel you can book guided trips some within using the Gondola or Lift and so shorter walking time.
