It's just a 10 min walk up/down the Rotata green slope. Okay in normal shoes but a bit too far for ski boots. However you can ski out and in, although we had to use the ski depot near the gondola, so I only did that on one day. They had a ski bus running morning and afternoon that took you to the ski depot and your instructor/lesson.

A couple of evenings we got a cab back, for the usual 10 lev, which was a pound each between 4 of us!!!! ExclamationExclamation

We stayed there the first year we went to Boro. It was fine, a bit basic, strange plumbing, and just three set choices for dinner rather than a help yourself buffet that you get in the Samokov.

Here's a pic of the Olymp car park from our room window Very Happy

Stayed at the Olymp last year. Very basic, but ok.buffet breakfast and evening meal. We treated evening meal as a starter, and then went out to eat, very cheap. Swimming pool cold, but really nice after days skiing. Small bar with a pool table. Just treat it as a base. You wont be in it for that long. take a few loo rolls!! We kept our skiis in our room and ski'd down each day.Beds a bit hard, but you wont notice after a good evening out. Have fun Smile

Hi Emma

We stopped in the Olymp the year before last and found the accomdation fine; no problems. Room was clean with a good view onto the beginners slope; try and get a room that looks out onto the run as we heard the rooms at the front of the hotel are not so good!
Agree with the comments on the food! - Don't expect great things for the evening meal but the breakfast is fine; plenty of choice and always fresh. Its so cheap to eat in town the evening meal thing will not be a problem - ...

Agree with the comments on the food! - Don't expect great things for the evening meal but the breakfast is fine; plenty of choice and always fresh. Its so cheap to eat in town the evening meal thing will not be a problem - and there is plenty of choice and all much better than hotel food!
Walk up the begginners run after nightlife is half the fun! Slope is well lit at night and much safer than walking up the road which runs parrell (up to hotel) as can be very slippery as so icey. Just make sure you take a pair of walking boots and you will be fine!

The facilities are very good for money - pool is great and there is a nightclub and cocktail if you can't be bothered any night to walk into town.
The great thing about the hotel is the fact you can basically ski from the door of the hotel. If you are hiring equipment there is a hire place in the basement of the hotel which offers fairly new stuff; I do recommend you take your own boots if you can though as the standard of ski boots in Borovets is poor compared to ski's. If you don't hire your skis from the shop you can get away with taking your stuff up into your room just don't take the piss - if your friendly with the porter and tip him they usually turn a blind eye.

Have a great time! - I wish I was on my way out there!
X

Hope you enjoy your stay!
