Opinion of Boro

Having read previous postings regarding peoples anxieties re Boro and hotels, I'd like to give my view from someone who went for the 1st time to Boro and skiing. What a lovely place. Boro has quite an intimate feel to it as it is quite small but you will be spoilt for choice for eating and drinking out, and the people are really friendly. Boro has quite an intimate feel to it as it is quite small but you will be spoilt for choice for eating and drinking out, and the people are really friendly. They all have a really good go at speaking English which puts us all to shame! We stayed at the Rila, which in regards to position is fantastic. The hotel is absolutely fine prob about 3star European rating, very clean (lots of security guards) the food was fine, exactly as you would expect in any buffet style hotel with a good choice but if it's not to your taste, plenty of places to eat elsewhere.
Our teenage boys had a whale of a time and we hardly saw them all week, we'd occasionally pass them in the street!!
Our 5 year old went to ski kindergarten and was quite happy there but it is a little basic in its facilities and they only go out for an hour in the morning and one in the afternoon, having said that we bought extra skiing lessons for him with an instructor which was quite reasonable in price.
The ski instructors were lovely, my husband stayed with our ski school group and had a great time, I switched to one to one with a lovely instructor called Angel (if any one sees him out there please say hello from Ali) because I was absolutely useless at skiing and was a real scaredy cat.
Would I go to Boro again - absolutely. Would I stay at the Rila - no problem.
I might try the Samakov for the kindergarten tho'.
Also Balken holidays were fine (some people have bad experiences).
