Organizing our own accomodation advice

We have always, this next season included, organized a ski package holiday through Balkan Holidays. However, we want to get more than just the one week skiing done this next season (and future seasons) without having to pay for a full package all the time.
We can organize our own flights, ski hire and lift passes can be bought out there BUT non of the hotels accept bookings between September and March from anyone other than travel agencies with package holidays.

Any advice on, ideally, ...

Any advice on, ideally, hotels or apartments that are in Bansko and available for booking for a few nights here and there by individuals would much appreciated.

Why delete the earlier response? It wasn't as though steve c owned or was marketing the Avalon Hotel.

I agree and then when you want offensive postings removed you have to wait until Pete has a chance to look in because no-one else seems to think it important. Crying Crying Crying

Hey Hornster,

I'm staying at the Avalon in Jan, looks a nice place, we are having an extra night (and therefor extra days skiing....) due to the flights.

If you need an email address for the guy who runs the Avalon, let me know and I will email you direct.

Not sure what the 'deletion' is all about as I only delete offensive postings, not opinions that may differ from mine.

Feel free to exchange tips, advice and recommendations..
thats all fine by me.

horn,
some hotels are a little funny about this but usually early on in the season as they are made by the holiday companies to keep spaces open. we booked the grand areana in bansko this year, but paid the normal list price so ended up paying roughly the same amount but you get an extra night and a nice car to take you to and from the airport all arranged by ring up the hotel.
if you dont mind waiting to closer to your date for leave, you can get some great deals at hotel. do this ...

if you dont mind waiting to closer to your date for leave, you can get some great deals at hotel. do this normally for work (go to hong kong a lot) but end up getting free room upgrades, extra nights free etc did this on my last trip and got an upgrade to a suite along with 2 free beers from the mini bar each night. just remember if you dont ask you dont get!
