Hi - new to site so be gentle!

Couple of questions
1/ What is snow like is is looking good for next week?
2/ Is it normal to be as scared as i feel now being only my second time - i think it might be that the first time i stuck to the instructor and did not have any preconcieved ideas - this time i think it might be a "little knowledge is dangerous" am i alone in feeling like this?
Really looking forward to it but am very nervous - would you recommend another set of basic lessons or just try out the nursey slopes first to see how it goes?
Hi Paul,
Don't worry - you're not alone at all as we all get these crazy feelings even after many years of skiing.
Can I still do it?
Will I make a fool of myself this year?
It's amazing how we get right back into it straight away and you'll soon get your confidence back. When you get allocated an instructor you will be graded and put into a class of similar ability skiers probably also on their 2nd year so you will be no different to them.

Just enjoy the moment - as when learning to ski I had the best time of my life and I would love to go back to those days. (Many think I should anyway )
Strange really for years it was on my top list of things to learn to do (it has taken me to be 47 before i learnt!) I always used to love watching mens downhill on tv yet had no idea what it was actually like. I watched the event over here (In UK) at Bansko the weekend and now that i know what its like i just think they are incredible how quick and controlled they are - but then i realise these guys have grew up with skis on.
How is the ...
cheers buddy - i am really looking forward to it

How is the weather over there? I gather from your name you are based in Pamp?
Fully agree with PP you will pick up straight where you left off. May be an hour or so and you will be away.
My personal experience (I will bet its the same for most !). Week 1 as a beginner you'll get to about a 3 on your own capability scale. Week 2 you'll get to an 8 on the same scale, hopefully a door will open into parallel skiing and carving turns and its a whole new world. It all becomes much easier and more do-able.

There is a big fear factor in skiing (part of the attraction although sometimes not enjoyable before much better after looking back though! )
I was 42 learning for my first week (47 now), Sooooo much wish I'd statred earlier, but you can't change time.
Did you see any of the Bansko world cup skiing on Eurosport over the weekend (re-runs available??). This should give you a good idea of exactly what its like currently.
