Dear all...

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a weeks snowboarding at the beautiful resort of Pamporovo and just cant wait to get back!!!!

We had a fantastic 7 days stay at the hotel Pamporovo and loved every god damn minute of it!!!

We pre-booked ourselves a very cheap snowboarding tuition course (via the travel agent) which included snowboot hire, boards & lift pass. We were taught by an awesome Bulgarian ski instructor with an excellent sense of humour, and by the end of our holiday we were confident of going down the slopes by ourselves after only a few lessons.

The Pamporovo hotel was very clean, warm and very 'christmasy' with many facilities.

There were several buses running every day to take you to the slopes, and always taxis waiting if you missed one...

With a few restaurants, pubs and hotels.. you couldnt go without and there is everything you need for a great holiday..

So for all you victor meldrews out there...

YES... we didnt get snow til Christmas Eve
YES... there were powercuts
YES... Ski lifts sometimes broke down (due to above)
YES... The hotel chef wasnt exactly Jamie Oliver
YES... drinks may be more expensive in accomodation
YES... organisation could have been better,,,

But this is Bulgaria folks... Commencing its Winter Season...

You came to ski/ snowboard/ ski-doo / bumboard... HAVE FUN!!!!!!

Not lay around in a hotel... moaning about the prices.... telling them how it should be done... How only the English know how !!!!!!!

You might be paying peanuts... BUT DONT ACT LIKE MONKEYS!!!!

This is Tony ( I was on the same boardin course as u and Dan). Nice report. As you said ..if people just get on with it rather than moaning about things no one has control over ie: the electricity, lack of snow , then they would have a much nicer holiday.
All i can say is myself and my family had a wonderful time, the snow was perfect nightlife was great, plenty for Daisy my 6 year old to do and the boardin was greatt fun!! except for the wee fall i had (remember Dan?). Anyways hope everyone who goes enjoys it as much as we did.

PS how where your return flights? Did all you guys fly from Plovdiv or did you have ta do the 6 hour coach journey to the other airport? We landed in Gatwick @3.30am
