It is not compulsary, but it is advisable. Lots of kids wear them, so you wont get a 'I don't look cool' reaction.

If it were my little girl it would be a deffo YES!

My son has asked for a helmet for Christmas. I have picked out an army one with built in headphones for about £50. He wanted to copy his older snow boarding brother.
