Bulgarian building regulations have been changed to such extent that Government administration has reduced properties owners to tears. Now they have to build everything out of LEGO blocks. In fact, everything in each room has to be made of LEGO; bowls of fruit, vase's of flowers, beds, sofas, everything.

"I was going to build my house with brick, but the new President said that bricks took too many explosives to bring down, and dynamite costs money," Smagski Smagsmithski said. "I worked hard all my life with good honest people I had three apartments pulled down. Now they tell me I have to build my fourth property with LEGO bricks, have you any idea how many LEGO bricks it takes to build a house and thay are so expensive. Yes they are easy to pull apart but the expense! and then there's the furniture and furnishings.

I find myself working long hours now but I had to get two additional jobs to support my family, and now we are told we can only build things out of LEGO blocks. I was afraid that she (Mrs Smagsmithski) wouldn't like the LEGO flowers idea, but she's been a good sport about things. She understands how it has to be."

"What was the hardest thing to build? a functioning industrial air conditioner. That was pretty hard," said Smagski.

More and more families have had to get additional jobs and start building with LEGO.
