Psychonaut,
You are wrong mate, helmets are a must for a variety of reasons. You could be just standing or moving slowly and get taken out by someone, the first thing in contact with the snow is your head!
If you are learning to board I would also advise the use of a gum shield cos at some point you are going to face plant.
But by far the most important advise I can give is to reject the dark side and trust the force!!!!!!!!!
As mentioned above - Helmets are pretty much a must. One knock to the noggin at just the wrong time or point and you're cabbaged for life or worse (actually death is probably not worse). Wrists, Coccyx's etc.. all heal.

Even the pro's advocate Helmets - Just look at Kevin Pearce - A young pro who showed a lot of promise. Took a hit and has never recovered to a competing standard.
Not trying to scare you, but you only have one head and it's pretty fragile. Protect it
As with Liam Neesions wife. She was nor wearing a helmet and she had a fall thought she had a headache as a result a few hours later she had passed away. Had she been wearing a helmet she would still be hear today
