Hi ThereJust wondered if anyone had any tips or suggestions for Pamporovo. Off there 20-27 Jan (beginner, 1st time skier)

Just dont worry about anything - we have just come back and I can ski but my partner could not - he was well looked after and in two days was like Herman mier!! Although the rest of his group where shocking but where a really nice friendly bunch who just wanted a laugh - instructors are vert nice and calm and dont make you do things you dont want. The baby slopes are very gentle. dont worry about falling over - there is plenty of that going one! And the Ski lifts look scary but are nice and ...

ATMs just dont work but the supermarket ALASKA (the only one and the resort is small) do cash back with any credit card with your passport.
Everyone is very friendly and speak good english so dont get too worked up about going to a eastern european country.

1) If you are cardiovascular (and strength) fit then you should be able to ski for longer meaning that you will probably enjoy the skiing more.
2) Make sure your ski edges are kept sharp and bases waxed.
3) Falling over whilst learning is all part of the fun so don't worry if you spend most of the first couple days on your bum.
4) Always look to your left and right (uphill) before turning in case other skiers are coming up faster behind you (collision!).

off to pamp same time as this! getting very worried by the snow reports and weather forecasts... once there is 1cm and im allowed ski im happy! i can only assume that on wed/thurs/fri it will be snowing a blizzard! WHY WOULDNT IT!?!!? re: Pamporovo 20-27 Jan

Meeting on going in resort as I write to decide if ski school can continue to operate with limited snow. No snow forecast, web cam only shows south facing slope at Malina. Anyone know what its like at the top. Will we ski at all next week. Love Pamporovo, the last time it was as bad as this was 20 years ago. There have been a few patchy years in between but last year saw almost record snow falls. Wouldn't care if I was giong by myself but am bringing a group out many of whom have been ...
