Good afternoon everyone. Me and my partner are coming to Pamps on Feb 27th for a week. I am looking for a bit of advice please:
a) What is the best car rental company at Plovdiv airport (we are arriving late on a Ryanair flight from Stansted. I think that it will be cheaper for us to rent a car compared to return transfers and we would have greater flexibility too.
b) what would be the best place to exchange money in Pamps

c) any recommendations for good restaurants? We will be staying in Eviridika Hotel.
d) Am I right thinking that 1st week in March slopes will be not as busy as in middle of Feb but the snow would still be good?
Lastly, if we do rent a car, we will have room for two people if anyone is interested and is on the same flights - we will just split petrol cost!
Not sure about car hire companies but someone else on here will advise I am sure (not sure yet but I may end up on the same flight so will contact you if we do!).
Bring clean £s and exchange at the Alaska supermarket or in hotel. We tend to go to Smolyan to eat so not sure about Pamps restaurants but there is a good choice.

Hi Luke
Not sure about car hire companies but someone else on here will advise I am sure (not sure yet but I may end up on the same flight so will contact you if we do!).

Unfortunately you couldn't be more wrong about the slopes! March 1-3 are national holidays in BG this year and tends to be very busy - avoid the lift at the bottom of the green run on these days, can be an hours wait! Snow tends to be good then though so should be able to ski the slopes on the Stoikite side ok.
Thanks a mil for your advice. I am quite an advanced skiier having skied for 15 years but my partner is a first timer. Stoikte is said to be a red run on the slope maps. Having watched youtube clips, it looks like a green/easy blue. Would you be able to advise on its difficulty? The last time I've been to Pamporovo was 2007 and those slopes were not open.
Cheers,
It is a lovely run, approx. 4km and mostly as you say green/blue. There are a couple of slightly tricky bits, especially when busy, but should be fine for a beginner after a few days.
If there is a decent amount of snow there is also a reasonable amount of off piste options there. Brand new 6 man lift at the bottom means that the waits are ok too.
