Hi, coming out as a couple on the above, will be 'boarding alone as missus doesn't hit the slopes anymore ......
Conditions permitting will be taking in some 'side country' and heading over to Chepelare a day or two also.
For an old man, and a tourist, I'm a half decent rider who's happy to give tips on progressing, if needed, and have also been known to even tolerate skiers occasionally ...... lol.
Anyone like minded give me a shout, otherwise have a good one. LJ
Mostly everything within the accepted 'boundary', usually the stuff between the marked trails, but occasionally other terrain too. Whatever looks doable, that doesn't involve a lengthy hike in, or out.
I've asked a few questions here but, mostly being classed as a 'beginners' resort, not had many answers. However a bit more digging has kinda confirmed what I thought. It's there (it always is) and the locals are doing it ...

Reading between the lines, Chepelare possibly offers the better opportunities, but no-one can tell me if it's properly open. Regardless, I'm guessing there's maybe a few 'Mustang Sally' runs (a la Big White) to be found on the dashed 'itineraries".
If you're interested, make sure your insurance is in place, it's never cheap when it goes wrong ....... trust me.
I'm coming out with piste skis so no so suitable for anything other than a bit of fresh on piste so wasn't planning to bring shovel, probe or transceiver etc. (I understand BG S&R use a different transceiver frequency than in the Alps).
I do, however, intend to check out the Chepelare pistes.
Incidentally; do they have patrolled intineries over there? (Like around Zermatt)
Not quite planning on bringing my t/c, shovel and probe either ........ did try to put across this, definitely a bit more low key than that ........
I'm happy to run around and take in the scenery ........
First full day (Sun) I'm guessing mostly in Pamporovo, with the run down to Smolyan Lakes ( otherwiseshut mon/tues) and everywhere else. Next day over to Chepelare.
