Pamporovo Hotel

Hi all!!!

After skiing for 10 years in my home country (italy) we decided to change places this year and our first choice is Pamprovo between 08 JAN and 14 JAN. I searched the net little bit and I saw that the best page for information is this page and decided to open a new topic for my questions.

I have some questions for those who know Pamporovo better than me;

1. How is the weather like early Jan? Foggy?

Hi all!!!

After skiing for 10 years in my home country (italy) we decided to change places this year and our first choice is Pamprovo between 08 JAN and 14 JAN. I searched the net little bit and I saw that the best page for information is this page and decided to open a new topic for my questions.

I have some questions for those who know Pamporovo better than me;

1. How is the weather like early Jan? Foggy?
2. How are snowboarding lessons? My sister will try snowboarding this year and I want her to have some lessons.
3. We will stay in Pamporovo Hotel and our friends will be in Evridika. Does it take to much to walk from one hotel to the other?
4. Is it possible to find Internet?
5. Board rentals: are the goods new?

too many questions, I know but I want to know whatever I can before coming to Bulgaria...

Thanks a lot...

Michele

re: Pamporovo Hotel

All the hotels are in relatively close proximity of one another, so you will not have far to walk between hotels.
I hope you have a great time in Pamporovo!

Hi Michele,

I'll do my best to answer your questions 1 by 1.

1. Like almost any country in the world, the weather changes every year and you can never be sure of what to expect. However I have been going to Pamporovo in February for 13 years and almost without exception we have had clear blue skies, with loads of snow cover.

2. Lesson will depend on who you have booked them with, but most instructors are brilliant, and no doubt you will fall in love with yours. Lessons are usualy 2 ...

Lessons are usualy 2 hours am and 2 hours pm each day. Your sister can go for what is called a 'taster lesson'. This is 1/2 a day just to see if she likes it. She can book this with the English guys at the Snowshack which is to the right as you get to the main depot below the Markony pub. All equiptment and lesson costs about £25 for the taster.

3. Not too far to walk, but with taxis so cheap, why bother walking.

4. Many hotels have internet cafes, and you will definately find one in the undercover shopping area between the Perelik and the Morgavets.

5. As previously stated, see Gary, Ted, or Steve at the Snowshack. They will look after you and they NEVER hire out bad gear nor will they rip you off. Really nice people.
