Bulgarian Tourists Flee Posh Winter Resort

Bulgaria's posh winter resort Pamporovo registered an exodus of Bulgarian tourists due to the increased prices of the ski premises as compared to the previous year.
The news was broken by Georgi Georgiev from the local hoteliers union "Pamporovo 21." In his words over the last winter season the Bulgarian skiers in the resort formed 25% of all tourists, whereas now they form just 10%.

Bulgaria's posh winter resort Pamporovo registered an exodus of Bulgarian tourists due to the increased prices of the ski premises as compared to the previous year.
The news was broken by Georgi Georgiev from the local hoteliers union "Pamporovo 21." In his words over the last winter season the Bulgarian skiers in the resort formed 25% of all tourists, whereas now they form just 10%.
Despite the decreased number of Bulgarians, the resort registers an increase in the number of foreign tourists. They have gone up by 30-40%. Most of the foreigners come from Ireland and the UK. They are followed by the Russian tourists.
There is an interesting tendency for Turkish tourists to come to Pamporovo, Georgiev underlined.
At present Pamporovo is in the center of the investors' interest in view of the construction of new vocational villages, apartment and tourism hotels. The new season was opened with 5km of new ski tracks thus increasing their number to over 30km.

the amount of ski tracks on this mountain is not going to be nearly enough if the planned amount of capacity is fulfilled making it over crowded and unsafe for skiers look at the green run from the top from wednesday onwards far to crowded

I would think that for Pamporovo to compete for the foreseeable future it would need to at least double it's ski runs, and have a lift that takes you for the Hotel Perelik area to the Malina area.Pamporovo is already been left well behind the other two ski resorts.
