Pamporovo joins with Chepeelare

Evening all. After a fantastic long weekend in Pamporovo I heared whilst I was out there (from a very reliable source) that the owners of Pamporovo have bought Chep. They are supposed to be in the process of working with Poma on panning the infrastructure for development next year.

Usually I'd shrug this off as agent speak, but this fella is straight down the line and never bulls.

This would be fantastic news for the region, has anyone else heared anything?

Hi PV

Glad you enjoyed the trip!

I heard the same story (from a Smolyan resident - not an agent!), so hopefully it may have some grounding. I was told they are planning to do feasability study this year with a view to doing the work next year.

Would be an exciting development, hopefully without the environmental issues associated with the Perleik project.

Even if it was just covered with the same lift pass it would be good. A physical join would be amazing but not sure how realistic it is?

You always have to take stories like this with a large pinch of salt, but the chap I was speaking with is adamant it will happen. He did say Poma (French lift builders behind Stokitite run) were in town last week helping prepare the feasibility study and planning proposals to link the two. He went on to outline where ...

We are very good friends with the Bike Park Managers and so hear alot of things that are happening behind the scenes even when they were in Borovets before moving on to pamps last season. The bike parks are already joint in a way with more trails etc to go in for the summer.

With the news of this French company looking at building a new resort just down the road things have to be done and all BG rsorts as they are will have to pick up their game if they are to succeed.
