Pamporovo review!!

HELLOOO!!

Got back from Pamps this weekend, thought I would drop a line and let you all know what we thought!

Travelled with Crystal, Flights from Gatwick were great, on time and the service on board was good..
Flew into Sofia, Straight on to the transfer bus, we were told it was a 4 hour transfer and we got a stop off at the local mc donolds about half way! the reps info and transfer was perfect and it didnt feel like a long horrible transfer at all.

Arrived pamporovo about 1am, ...

Arrived pamporovo about 1am, and were first drop off. We stayed at the Prespa, check in was quick, reception staff very polite and we got given a bag with food and drink in.

The rooms were great, really warm and we got a balcony, which we hadnt paid for!

Next morning we met the rep as arranged in reception and we were taken to the ski bus stop and then down to the depot. I was travelling in a group of 4, myself experienced and the other 3 ski virgins!! we got our lift passes, equiptment vouchers and they got their lesson vouchers, the people in the ski depot were fab, so friendly and so helpful, and the ski instructors came in and and helped with the fittings! which is something I have never known before.

The groups were small, 6 people in each! we were told that the total in resort was only 122 guests from the UK.

Slopes were empty, like having your own personal mountain! no Qs for lifts.

Sunday, first day was beautifuly sunny and just awesome sking as we were told it had been snowing all day the saturday before.

welcome meeting in the white hart, very informative and both reps were available for questions and were very informative.

From Midday on monday it snowed and snowed and snowed and snowed!!! great empty mountains, friends very happy in ski school, fresh powder everywhere!
New runs off the 6 man chair open and fabulous.

Did the ringos trip one day after skiing and it was great!

Transfer back again not bad at all, sofia airport is good, flight on time no complaints at all!

Best ski holiday ever, think we have all been spoiled! Mima, taught the guys to ski like legends so will be asking for her next year, which we have booked already!

Bulgaria wins, hands down and i think with the proposed improvments and changes its gonna keep on getting better and better.

Just one thing.....the brochures need to be updated, as although bulgaria is cheap and quality is fantastic, a 3 course meal is not £7!! but that is a very minor point its still great value, friendly, ticks all the boxes!

bring on December!

Surprised Surprised

Having viewed the state of the slopes throughout the season i can honestly say that it was only the first few weeks around Xmas and NY that was snowless. Granted it was getting a bit patchy and icy in between decent falls but that can happen at any resort in Europe; particularly one at 1900m max. If people want guaranteed snow throughout the season go to a higher resort, simple as that. However to say it was snowless is simply not true. Not quite sure why you would post that and ...

What is your agenda? You have not answered me. What is your reason for being on the site and posting? Simple question. I don't want to see any deleting unless it's inappropriate or offensive but open debate is what these forums are for. You stated it was snowless, that was not true so I felt obliged to reply.

Yes I understand but I don't see the point in it. Why go somewhere just for the sake of it unless you have some personal vendetta? Haven't you got anything better to do? I have been to Pamps, once before out of season and it is not a c**p place. In fact i found it rather charming and pretty compared to lots of Alpine resorts. The fact that it is relatively low means that it is surrounded by forest and gives it a special feel. The downside is the snow will not always be as good as ...

I have been to Pamps, once before out of season and it is not a c**p place. In fact i found it rather charming and pretty compared to lots of Alpine resorts. The fact that it is relatively low means that it is surrounded by forest and gives it a special feel. The downside is the snow will not always be as good as resorts higher up. Swings and roundabouts. I do have a vested interest as I am going there for a long weekend a week on Thursday hence why I have been tracking the snow levels throughout the season. I also rarely post on this forum as I am normally at work but have got some awful bug which has meant a day off.

If you are so anti BG and the " hard drinking " moderators (odd thing to say unless you know them personally ) why not just get on with your life elsewhere and leave them to it? After all it seems like you have no interest in visiting BG!
