Pamporovo ski run 9

Does anyone know why it is closed? Seems like it's been closed all season long.

Not been open for last 3 seasons as far as I can remember. Even with 2m of snow on the mountain last March it wasn't open. Think they may have given up on it! Perhaps someone who knows more about the piste management knows what's going on with it. It's a shame as its a beautiful run and adds a lot to the resort imho.

Which one is number 9, not Smolyan Lakes is it? If that's the one they seem to have let it go, I can't remember the last time it was officially open (although I've been down it a few times when not). Beautiful run, quite stunning and unique with clif faces to the side of you.

I done it in February 2015, when snow conditions had been decent, was bad just before we arrived because of a rain storm, then tonnes of snow came and seemed to not stop falling for most of the week. This run was obviously closed, and we found out why... Feel free to watch and find out for yourself.

While it looks like that side of the Mountain suffers with less snow, there clearly looked like no effort to reopen it any time with fallen trees, boulders etc. ...

re:Pamporovo ski run 9

I've been to Pamporovo 4 seasons in a row now and have never seen this piste open. I've been asking lots of people why it's not open and the best answer I could get was that it doesn't get much snow because it's south facing. Just watched your video and it looks like it could be a great run if it was just groomed and managed a bit better.

re:Pamporovo ski run 9

It's a great run when open, I love it. Bit flat at the bottom so some polling required but otherwise good. Suffers with poor snow as on the sunny side and also piste management a bit on the sparce side as fallen trees are not removed but if open, grab the opportunity.

I'm gonna try it out next season when there's enough snow on it. but how do I get back? The little chair lift back up is never runnng either!

re:Pamporovo ski run 9

They only start the yellow chairlift when someone appears, which is not that often. No point running it unless it is in use.

To follow the run to the chairlift, go past the button lift hut and it bears round to the left a bit. If the Lakes run (and the yellow chairlift) are closed, it will be blocked off at this point by red plastic fencing. Don't go past it because you will be walking back !
