Pamporovo snow wearing thin...

Flying to Pamporovo tmrw so my first day skiing will be Sunday...looking at the web cam and the snow appears to be wearing thin.

Starting to get paranoid...

re: Pamporovo snow wearing thin...

I've recently noticed that both of my temples are starting to wear a bit thin - I'm thinking about setting up a webcam to monitor this for those times when I can't find a mirror.

yeah good point !

The apres ski is always good though...fingers and toes crossed for more snow...or I might end up coming back an alcoholic...

I came back from Pamporovo on 30th. Never skied in my life and had a great time.We had snowfalls on 26th and 30th. When we were learning for first few days and you dont need much of an area to practice so no worries. The nursery slopes with drag lifts were ok barring a couple of minor patches.

I did all of green run on day 4 to my amazement - top half was 50 percent fine 40% icy so control was harder but being a biker the added challenge was fun but a few learners were toppling over more ...

10% was exposed small rocks - one corner you had to walk and these areas you have watch as your ski just "stops" when you hit one.

Bottom section of green run was not ideal for begginer just too many exposed areas of rock/ground to snag you, I had a go and fell over 3 times here but the amount of hazards took the fun away a bit.If you get deep snow it be just excellent

Relatives in party who went on other runs advised red and blue a bit better than green.

When we left feeling was that Jan 10th would bring more snow, the webcam image I would only really worry if left hand side of Cam is bare.

Had a fantastic holiday and for value unbeatable, if you are on a tight budget the supermarket do 4 rolls in a pack for 1.70 lev about 65p. Take them up mountain as some of the lodges were we felt were over priced. Boycott the cafe at the bottom of "the wall" Black run - we were charged 4levs for a small bottle of coke (£1.50) - we were expecting Robbie to appear and play a gig or sumthing paying that money and the garlic bread was poor also.

If you get Gerry as your instructor like us then you will ski if its in you - he was just brilliant.

All in all its a holiday to remember - we stayed at the Murgavets which was excellent.

We'll be back!!
