Hi guys
We live in Bulgaria year round near Kazanlak and we're dying to get down to Pamp/Chepelare this winter, possibly with some other friends who also live here.
We are OK snowboarders, bit rusty, and we have two girls aged nearly 7 and nearly 3 who have never skied or boarded.
We haven't made it to the region yet, but looking at the info, I wonder if Chepelare would be a good choice? Would prefer smaller, less busy and we speak reasonable bulgarian and used to village prices ...

We would be looking for some budget accommodation, self catering chalet or large apt ideal, but will consider anything. Probably between 2-7 Jan or even over xmas itself but as we will be arriving by car, pretty flexible.
If our kids want to do learner ski or ski nursery, are there good facilities? Can we leave them and disappear up the mountain Also, if our friends come, one of them won't be skiing so need nice relaxing things to do like swimming or chilling.
Is it a rumour that if you have a lichna carta you get cheaper lift passes? (we do)
Any feedback, offers of accommodation or advice gratefully received
Thanks
Jo

Hi Jo,
If you fancy a break with a bit more of a personal touch, we have a B&B in the village of Momchilovtsi which is close to Pamporovo but also close to the Snowboard Park. The snowboard Park is a small Bulgarian resort, very friendly, with really low prices (around 10 lev for drag lift) and would be perfect for beginners. They also give ski lessons etc. They also have sledging, ski-doos etc so you could combine the two, Pamps and the Snowboard Park. You could also drive up to Pamporovo ...

Hi Jo, We can certainly accommodate you at Snezhanka if you wanted to be Pamporovo. There you have the swimming pool in the hotel, bowling alley at Perelik opposite and the ice skating rink just down the road. The bus takes you straight from the hotel to ski centre 2 so there is no walking around carrying ski equipment. Drop me an e-mail if you want any more details. Chepelare is a 15-20 min drive so no problems to ski there particularly if you have your own transport.
