Just got back from Pamporovo. The weather was fantastic all week and the skiing was just brilliant! Just got back from Pamporovo. The weather was fantastic all week and the skiing was just brilliant! Unfortunately though, when we left the the temperature soared and the sun shone like we were in the Bahamas'. If it carries on at this rate take shorts &bikinis, cos there's going to be no snow left on the slopes! However, things can change quite quickly,.. so if your off next week fingers crossed. On another note, whilst it's a great place to go (for value etc), I personally believe that at the rate it's going, Pamps will have outgrown itself in 3/5 years or so. So many new hotels/properties being built etc...can the space on the slopes sustain all these people?...I would be suprised. Also, the costs seem to have risen quite steeply compared to two years ago, If it continues like this people will turn their attention to the Alps etc where the infrastructure etc is miles better. Shame, but this is the concensus of opinion of others we spoke to in the resort last week. Finally, the skiing lesson groups were far to overcrowded and in some cases there were some 18 or so skiers in a class. All this aside, Pamps is still a great place ...let's hope it lasts.
our ski instructor said that because of all the new hotels they are thinking of building a gondala between the mountain that pamporovo is on and another one
